EUCLID RESEARCH
An Intergovernmental institution under
United Nations Treaty Series 49006 / 49007
The H. Tristram Engelhardt School of Global Health and Bioethics at EUCLID (Euclid University) serves as a specialized academic unit that strategically integrates the institution’s longstanding expertise across interconnected domains—climate science, international diplomacy, public administration, and religious studies—to deliver innovative and interdisciplinary graduate programs tailored to the complexities of global health and bioethics.
This approach recognizes that global health challenges, such as pandemics, environmental health risks, and ethical dilemmas in medical practice, cannot be addressed in isolation but require a holistic framework drawing from multiple fields.
For instance, expertise in climate is leveraged to explore the intersections between environmental changes and public health outcomes, such as the health impacts of climate-induced disasters or vector-borne diseases exacerbated by global warming, as highlighted in program modules on “Global Health and Climate.”
Diplomacy contributes by emphasizing international cooperation and policy negotiation, equipping students to navigate multilateral health agreements like those under the World Health Organization (WHO) or United Nations frameworks, fostering skills in global health diplomacy.
Public administration provides practical tools for managing health systems, governance, and resource allocation in diverse international contexts, preparing graduates to lead efficient public health initiatives in governmental or intergovernmental settings.
Finally, religion and interfaith studies infuse the curriculum with ethical depth, addressing bioethical issues through diverse religious lenses—such as debates on end-of-life care, reproductive ethics, or equitable access to healthcare—promoting culturally sensitive and morally grounded decision-making in a pluralistic world.
This interdisciplinary synergy culminates in uniquely specialized graduate programs, including a Master’s in International Public Health and a Ph.D. in International Public Health, both offered fully online to accommodate global learners, particularly civil servants and professionals from participating states across continents. These programs stand out for their focus on training international public servants, their recognition in prestigious rankings (e.g., EUCLID’s inclusion among the top 50 global health institutes in Springer’s “Global Population Health and Well-Being in the 21st Century”), and their alignment with EUCLID’s intergovernmental mandate under United Nations Treaty Series 49006/49007.
By blending these areas, the school not only equips graduates with technical knowledge but also with the adaptive, ethical, and cross-cultural competencies needed to tackle pressing global issues, such as health equity in climate-vulnerable regions or bioethical policies in diplomatically sensitive environments.
